What is a domain name?

A domain name is a unique, easy-to-remember address used to access websites some examples are, 'hfbla.com', 'usa.gov' and 'lsu.edu'. 

 

 

Why is HFB changing their domain name from hfbla.com to HFB.BANK?

.BANK domain is the equivalent of other governmental and educational websites you use today that end in ‘.GOV’ and ‘.EDU’.  The .BANK domain is recognized as the global platform for growth and innovation in the banking industry.  Implementing a .BANK domain ensures a trusted, verified and secure location for your online banking services.  All .BANK domains are required to meet robust security standards and practices, and only verified members of the banking industry can register.

 

 

How does this benefit HFB customers? 

With the new HFB.BANK domain, customers can be assured that when they visit our website, or communicate with us, enhanced security and verification requirements are in place in order to reduce the risk of cyber threats and enable us to continue to build on our highly-trusted secure environment.

 

 

What do I need to do to access HFB.BANK?

Simply type www.hfb.bank into your browser and it will bring you to our home page. If you currently have hfbla.com bookmarked on your computer, you will need to replace that bookmark with www.hfb.bank on August 15, 2021. We have taken care of the rest.

Online banking will remain accessible through HFB.BANK. You will login with the same user name and password that you are currently using.

No, this will not affect the HFB mobile app.
